Make poverty history
I have heard a lot about campaigns from different organizations to make the living conditions in the world better. Recently, and the most talked-about, is Live8 lead by Sir Bob Geldoff. He's really active and determined to stop poverty and making lives better for others. He had done so approximately about 20 years ago to help Africa and now he had re-created history by repeating what he had done previously. Gotta say I admire this man.
I, myself, was glued to this local tv programme called "Dorce show" earlier in the morning. It's almost like "Oprah". It's Indonesia's own Oprah I must say. I never really watched her show before not until today when she discussed about poverty in my home country. I know it's pretty terrible here but I didn't realise how bad it really was not until I watched the show. I was touched by some action that the Trans TV crews had done by donating little money to them. It makes a big difference for some people. I didn't really realise that a small thing we do, can be considered a big thing for others. If I had the power to influence people in this country to stop poverty, I would love to do so. Unfortunately, it can't be done, especially by a race like me. It's a bit race radical here. Whatever we do, won't be counted that good by people here. We don't really get the appreciation that we deserve to get. One thing that I had done was joining "The One" campaign by signing up at their website.
I hope other people who have bigger influence can make 'poverty history'.
